What a rebellious act it is to love yourself naturally in a world of fake appearances.

― Nikki Rowe

The other day I was listening to Off the Vine, a podcast by one of my all time fave bachelorettes, Kaitlyn Bristowe.

In this particular podcast, she was talking to her fiance, Shawn Booth.

A real good point was brought out.

Almost every girl who post pictures on social media does it with a filter, and that’s alright, because we really want our followers to see us at our best. But hearing Kaitlyn talk about how she is now posting pictures every once in a while of her most natural self, (no filters, no make up, just her beautiful natural face), it had me seriously thinking that I should definitely do the same.

Now don’t get me wrong, posting pictures of me with makeup, filters and all of that is nice because of the said attention I receive, the amount of likes, comments, shalala shalala; however, I have come to a point in my life in which I really don’t care about that certain of attention as much as I did before. What I care about right now, is that whoever does like me, likes me for the real me at my au natural state. I care about making a change, inspiring people, and feeling good about myself. I want women to know that they are at their most beautiful when they are naturally themselves.

I am honestly so glad I was able to listen to Kaitlyn’s podcast, because moving forward, I am going to be posting a #realstagram as much as I can.

Everyone should definitely listen to Kaitlyn’s Podcast. She’s not only hilarious, but she also talks about real things and give out real honest good advice. A new podcast is aired every week on Tuesday. You can click here to listen or just subscribe on iTunes.

What’s your opinion on #Realstagram? Is it something you would consider doing?

  1. But this might only applies to girls ( LOL..) I would say as this is defenetly something guy barely do. I apply color filter to scenery and food just to bring the right color of the content but to myself never i would say. Kinda hard to think of a moment when my blend face will make a difference but good point.
